A clear sterile aqueous solution containing Streptomycin Sulphate BP 250 mg per ml.

Devomycin is active against a wide range of Gram-negative organisms and some Gram-positive pathogens. It is indicated in the treatment of infections caused by organisms sensitive to streptomycin, in particular E. coli, Klebsiella spp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis and some species of Proteus, Pasteurella and Salmonella.

For intramuscular injection only. The injection site should be massaged after administration.
Horses, cattle and sheep: 1 ml/25 kg for up to 3 days (10 mg streptomycin/kg bw).
For cattle, the maximum dose volume to be administered at a single site is 10 ml and for sheep is 5 ml.
Dogs and cats: 1 ml/10 kg (25 mg streptomycin/kg bw).
Care should be taken in computing the dose to avoid overdosage.

Excessive and prolonged administration can lead to interference with balance and hearing. In extreme cases damage can be permanent. Cats are the most susceptible animals.

Do not handle this product if you are sensitised (allergic) to aminoglycoside antibiotics.
In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, wash the affected area with plenty of water immediately.
Wash hands after use.

Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Cattle may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 16 days from the last treatment.
Sheep may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 18 days from the last treatment.

In accordance with the horse passport legislation (Commission Decision 2000/68/EC as implemented in national legislation) a 6 month withdrawal period applies to the use of this product.

Milk for human consumption may only be taken from cattle after 48 hours from the last treatment.

Not to be used in ewes producing milk for human consumption.

Dispose of any unused product and empty containers in accordance with guidance from your local waste regulation authority.

Store in a cool, dark place. Do not store above 25ºC. Keep out of reach of children.
Protect from light.
Following withdrawal of the first dose, use the product within 28 days.
When the container is broached for the first time, using the in-use shelf-life which is specified on this package insert, the date on which any product remaining in the container should be discarded should be worked out. This discard date should be written in the space provided on the label.
Keep out of the reach of children.
