Duofast is a cream stable intramammary suspension prepared under sterile conditions.

Each single dose, 8g syringe contains:

Trimethoprim Ph.Eur 40 mg
Sulfadiazine Ph.Eur (Sulphadiazine) 200 mg

Duofast is specially formulated for the broad spectrum treatment of clinical mastitis in the lactating cow.

Duofast is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis and other streptococcal species, staphylococcal spp, Actinomyces pyogenes, Escherichia coli and other Gram-negative bacteria.

The contents of one syringe should be infused into each infected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking, at 12 hour intervals for three consecutive milkings. Clean and disinfect the teat before each treatment.

Milk for human consumption must not be taken from a cow during treatment. Milk for human consumption may only be taken from 48 hours after the last treatment.

Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment. Cattle may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 7 days from the last treatment.

Do not use in animals with known sulphonamide sensitivity, hepatic damage, or blood dyscrasias.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of accidental contact, wash the affected area with plenty of water immediately.

People who are allergic to the ingredients in this product, should handle the product with great care (e.g. by wearing gloves).

Wash hands after use.

Do not store above 25ºC.
The syringe must only be used once.
Keep out of reach of children.
Dispose of any unused product and empty containers in accordance with guidance from your local waste regulation authority.

POM-V To be supplied only on veterinary prescription.

Supplied in cartons of 24 syringes. Each 8g syringe contains 40 mg trimethoprim and 200 mg sulfadiazine (sulphadiazine).
